Join a dynamic crowd of NYC residents who are committed to a sustainable future, while feasting on the newest certified organic restaurant in NYC. Connect with others about social, economic and environmental issues facing our world today, while supporting businesses that are devoted to a sustainable future.
With a menu that has been certified organic by both the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) and the USDA, GUSTO Restaurant is a sustainably minded eatery that meets 9 of the 10 Eco-Eatery criteria designed by Green Edge NYC. Organic champagne will be provided by Appellation Wines & Spirits, the first wine shop in New York City that focuses on selling organic/biodynamic/natural wines.
Features of GUSTO:
q All packaging is eco-friendly, and most of it biodegrades in 90 days.
q All the furniture is made with recycled wood from old barns in the region.
q Green-certified cleaning products and LED lighting.
q Certified as a “Green Restaurant” by the Boston-based Green Restaurant Associations (GRA), one of only a handful of New York City restaurants to achieve the distinction.
q Gusto has completed 22 Green Steps required by the GRA’s rigorous guidelines. Next month, the restaurant’s power will switch to wind energy thanks to an innovative program with the city’s utility Consolidated Edison, Inc.
